Nolan Kasper, a former racer at The Hidden Valley Club, is going to the World Cup! Nolan began his skiing career here at the Club, where his father was a coach, when he was three years old. After learning the ins and out of skiing, he migrated North and now at the age of 20 Nolan is in his first year as a member of the US Ski team and is preparing to compete at the World Cup. We are very excited and proud to see one of our racers reach such heights! Good Luck Nolan! The Hidden Valley Club is rooting for you!
BIOGRAPHY
Emerging all-rounder Nolan Kasper saw his first NorAm racing during the 2007 season. A quad silver medalist (giant slalom, SL, SG, overall) at the 2006 Chevrolet U.S. Junior Olympics, Kasper got a nod from the U.S. Development Team directly after and has been climbing the ladder ever since.
UPDATE
A true testament to hard work paying off, Kasper continued his progression with the U.S. Ski Team by making the C Team on the laurels of a bronze medal at Junior Worlds. He also punched it at the Nature Valley U.S. Alpine Championships, winning the junior slalom title, while finishing third in the junior ranks for giant slalom and second overall in combined, prompting the Eastern Ski Writers Association to hand over the Golden Ski Award recognizing Kasper as the East's top junior racer. "It's pretty awesome to be recognized for an award that's been around so long," said Kasper. "I had a pretty solid season last year and my progression with the U.S. Ski Team is right where I want it to be. It's cool to see the hard work pay off." Goals for 2010 include continuing the hard work by living in Park City with teammates and holding down a lot of time at the Center of Excellence. With Europa Cup starts on the horizon, Kasper also has his eyes on a few World Cup starts this year.
