But be warned, your children will soon be overtaking you on the slopes! Teaching children to ski and snowboard using correct technique while safely enjoying the snow and terrain is very important to everyone at The Hidden Valley Club.
Many of our instructors have taken special courses in how to teach children. The emphasis during lessons for children is on safety, good behavior, and simply having as much fun as possible.
Choose from the following programs, or book a private lesson.
Group Lessons
Cost: $29 per hour
Lesson times: 10 a.m., noon, 2 p.m., 4 p.m., 6 p.m.
One instructor is placed with a group of students of similar age and ability. Group sizes vary, but are always kept at a reasonable number to ensure an effective lesson. Be sure to arrive at the mountain approx. one hour before your class time. Out of consideration to other class members, latecomers will not be allowed to interrupt classes that are underway. Lessons are one hour long. Minimum age: 6 years old. No need to make reservations-just show up ready to learn! Participants are required to purchase a lift ticket or possess a season pass.
Private Lessons
Cost: $62 per hour
Lesson times: On the hour, 10 am- 6pm.
Private ski or snowboard instructions are available at your request. Ask for your favorite instructor or we can make recommendations to best fit your needs.
Reservations are recommended.
Participants are required to purchase a lift ticket or possess a season pass.
Semi-Private Lessons
$62 for 1st student; $29 per additional student
Lesson times: On the hour, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
One instructor is placed with two or three students of similar levels of ability and compatible ages. The customer provides the students and must be at a similar level of ability. Lessons are one hour long. Minimum age: 6 years old.
Reservations are recommended. Participants are required to purchase a lift ticket or possess a season pass.

Ski Wee Weekend Program
A ski program for children 4-12 years old.
Designed for young skiers age 4-12 of all ability levels. The children will learn while having fun under the watchful eyes of skilled instructors. Morning, afternoon, or full day sessions are available. All sessions take a hot chocolate break; the full day program includes lunch. Rentals available. Program offered Saturday & Sunday. Reservations are required so book early. Check your children in at guest services at least 45 minutes prior to the start of the lesson. Be sure your chilid is ready to participate. There are no refunds for children who choose not to participate. $25 fee for failure to cancel a reservation by 8am.

Mini Riders Weekend Program
A snowboard program for children ages 7-12 years old.
The mini-rider program is for young snowboarders age 7-12 and accommodates all levels of ability. Youngsters will work on their snowboard skills under the care and supervision of their instructors. Morning, afternoon, or full day sessions are available. All sessions take a hot chocolate break; lunch is included in the full day program. Rentals available. Program offered Saturday & Sunday. Mountain Masters Program
A five week learning program for skiers and boarders ages 5-14 years old.
An after-school program for skiers and boarders ages 5 thru 14. Mountain Masters is perfect for beginners or those with experience. Kids are grouped according to their age and level of ability. The program runs for five weeks, from 5-9 p.m., with a one-hour group lesson each week. You select the day of the week that fits your schedule best: classes are offered Tuesday- Friday. After each lesson, children are welcome to practice what they have learned.
Advance registration required. Participants are required to purchase the program lift ticket or possess a season pass.
